
If you tap on the reading in your apps Device Health section for your Smart Light or Bridge it will show you the RSSI number value. I have also not found any documentation describing what the indicator is supposed to be indicating. Where to Find your Device’s RSSI Open your Ring app, select your Bridge or a Smart Light device, then select the Device Health section to see the signal strengths. I was not able to find any tool inside qgroundcontrol that would show me the raw numbers that correspond to the white circles in Channel Monitor view so I am not able to provide more info. There is no documentation about how to send rssi value to the channel (mixer setup) to be properly understood by px4 and/or qgroundcontrol. But qgroundcontrol is able to detect when I turn on and off the transmitter (reporting manual control lost or regained). However I am not able to related the shown values with what my transmitter is reporting, not even basic up & down movement (72dB -> 93%, 108dB -> 91%). I tried to set RC_RSSI_PWM_CHAN to point to a channel where I have published rssi which results in some change of the indicator. When I turn it on the value does not change.


I am using X-Lite S transmitter.ĪFAIK there is no datasource for the RSSI value but the indicator in the top toolbar is showing RSSI value 39% - mostly one bar but sometimes two bars filled - when value changes to 40%. Both RX and RSSI (Received Signal Strength Indication) are indications of the power level being received by an antenna. Pixhawk is connected to FrSky RX6R receiver using SBUS. For my environment, these RSSI values are very good because my home has aluminum siding, metal door, stone front facade.I have pixhawk 4 running px4 1.9.2 and qgroundcontrol 3.5.4 connected over usb. May not be similar in your environments but I get -34 at the DBPro and -64 at the Floodlight. I likewise set both devices as static DHCP assignments and hardcore their IP addresses to ensure they didn't need to renegotiate ip addressing with each disconnect.Īdditionally, since I'm supporting both DBPro and Floodlight, I only use 2.4GHz and configured Fastlane over 5GHz back to the main router. Using a WiFi analyser app such as the Netgear analyser, to determine the least congested channel and then hardcoding the EX7300 to that channel has solved the constant disconnects in my environment! This possible channel change made my Ring devices fail to reconnect repeatedly. Ring seems to store the setup wifi channel in it's config (observation, not technical fact), where the default Nighthawk setup auto selects the best channel.

I use the smaller EX7300, but found that the default Netgear config was too smart/advanced for my Ring devices.
